NEW BEGINNINGS!! - 23 SEPTEMBER 2009

Hi

I apologise for the long gap since my last Posting but, the clue is in the title!!

NEW BEGINNINGS

In August I was very busy undergoing two Diploma courses and I am now qualified and able to offer Holistic Facials and relaxing Manicures. I will be including the my knowledge from my other therapies i.e., Kinesiology and Reflexology to really add that special touch to both treatments. (Please look at the website for full details and enjoy a 10% booking off your first treatment).

If you would like to have a taster session or would like to know more about Hypnotherapy or any of the therapies I offer please take the opportunity to come along and see me at the Mind,Body & Spirit Fair which will be taking place on 4 October 2009 at the Memorial Hall in Beverley from 10-4pm. I will be giving a talk on Hypnotherapy and a demonstration of the unique facial relaxation techniques at 11.30 am.

Last week we enjoyed a lovely break in Ingleton in the Dales and the weather absolutely amazing - sunny and warm for the whole 3 days. We had a beautiful walk around the Ingleton Waterfalls which are absolutely stunning - there are 5 falls to see on the 4 and half mile walk. There are steps to help you on your way up but you can take it at your own pace. The B&B we stayed in provided an excellent cooked breakfast and also has a small Plant Centre attached - Seed Hill B&B which is in the centre of the village.

Since my return I have been very busy with Clients from Hypnotherapy to Reiki to Facials - it's funny how you suddenly get a 'rush on' but very welcome.

This week has seen the start of new teaching courses and I am thoroughly enjoying teaching the Healthy Families course on Monday mornings at Tilbury Road Children's Centre and looking forward to starting the Confidence Building Course at the West Hull Women's Centre - Wheeler Street - on Thursday 24 September.

Monday evening was the start of the new events for Meet - networking group for local business women which is informal and very friendly with everyone offering support and encouragement to one another. The group meets once a month at the Ferguson Fawcett in Walkington.

Last night, Tuesday, I went to a new Pilates class and thoroughly enjoyed the session - the Tutor was excellent and it was a whole new experience as we were using the large balance/fitness balls to work with. This caused no end of laughs as we tried to keep our balance and not fall off!!

Must sign off now as I have a Reiki client to see in Cranswick and tonight I will be returning to my relaxing Yoga class for another term - can't wait.

The benefits of relaxing

Good morning and thank you for taking the time to read over my blog.

I have recently returned from my holiday to Sicily and feel relaxed and refreshed having simply taken each day as an opportunity to wake up and think 'what would I like to do today?' and sometimes the answer was 'very little, just chill out and read a book and look at the sea and scenery from time.' Indeed, my own grandaughter, is a wonderful living breathing reminder of the sheer joy of just living in the moment and not, as so many of us do, looking at what we have to do next after this. Back to the benefits of the holiday, as the holiday progressed I became aware that those little pockets of tension which can accumulate in your neck and shoulders had disappeared. This came as a timely reminder to myself that I should; 'walk my talk' and be using my Reiki together with the many relaxation techniques I teach to my clients and students on my Stress Management and Relaxation courses throughout the East Riding.

One of the main comments made by students and clients is that they experience a lot of muscular tension and their mind is permanently whirling around or listening to a group of chattering monkeys. I help them to reduce these symptoms by teaching a whole variety of physical movements from Brain Gym - Educational Kinesiology in which I am a licensed Consultant and Trainer together with breathing techniques and deep relaxation techniques.

Reiki Training Success

I have had the pleasure this week to be able to award John his level II Reiki certificate having successfully met all the requirements and demonstrated his ability to use it for the benefit of himself and others.

I would like to mention that there will be a Mind, Body and Spirit Fair at Beverley Memorial Hall, October 4th 2009 where I will be giving a talk on Hypnotherapy and relaxation techniques.

I would also like to thank Yvonne of Rainbows, Beverley who has organised the Fair and is the person without whom this blog would not be appearing or my website - brightmindsyorkshire.com.

I look forward to reading any comments you may wish to forward.

Regards
